Sad new about the loss of one of the Amazon’s most promising scientist and conservationist – Dennis Lizarro

The Tropical Conservation Development (TCD) Program and the Governance Infrastructure in the Amazon (GIA) Project informs with great sadness the passing of Dennis Lizarro. Dennis died unexpectedly on December 11^th, 2021 in Trinidad, Bolivia. He has been a valuable member of GIA’s Community of Practice and Learning in the Upper Madera since 2019. He was considered one of the most prolific young biologists in the research of bats, fish and reptiles in Bolivia, especially the Amazon, where he dedicated a large part of his experience as part of the team of the Aquatic Resources Research Center (CIRA) of the Autonomous University of Beni (UAB). He was a kind, dedicated, caring, thoughtful and energetic professional who enjoyed mentoring future young professionals in Bolivia. He will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to all of the family, friends and colleagues of Dennis.
