Schmink Innovation Awardee develops flipbook tool on gender equity in agroforesty activities in Uganda

“We Grow Together”  is a product developed by UF MDP and TCD alumna Katie Fiorillo Dowhaniuk in collaboration with PANGEA and Kijani Forestry in Uganda.  Katie previously worked on women’s empowerment in agroforestry activities with Kijani Forestry as part of her MDP practicum.  With funds from the TCD’s Marianne Schmink Innovation Fund, Katie returned to the community to present her results and receive feedback.  During this visit she developed this flipbook learning tool designed to focus on gender equity in agroforestry activities with input from the community and in partnership with PANGEA.  We congratulate Katie on her collaborative approach to developing products to enhance learning and information sharing regarding Kijani Forestry’s sustainable agroforestry activities with communities in northern Uganda.
