Patricia coordinates the activities related to the Tropical Conservation and Development Program (TCD) and its related programs such as:

  • Management of TCD student and alumni databases
  • Coordinates the TCD graduate Certificate enrollment and certification processes 
  • Preparation of budget and monitoring of the Ford Endowment expenditures
  • Coordination of different tasks related to all eight student financial support competitions sponsored by the TCD Program  
  • Organization and support to all TCD events
  • Revision and maintenance of the TCD webpage
  • Coordination of Mailchimp platform for communication with TCD community and some social media
  • Planning and participation on task forces and committees
  • Production of reports and minutes
  • Administrative support to Center for LAS, especially as part of search committees for other staff positions.

Background

Patricia previously served as Assistant Director of the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments Project in Manaus, Brazil and has worked as a Biological Scientist at the UF School of Forest Resources and Conservation. Her background includes field research in tropical forest ecology and conservation, as well as undergraduate and graduate education related to tropical conservation and development. She holds an MS in Ecology from Universidade de Sao Paulo and a BA in Biology from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. She is a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese and can get by with professional Spanish.
