Amazon Dams Program

The Amazon Dams Program builds on UF’s Center for Latin American Studies and Tropical Conservation and Development Program (TCD) thirty plus years of experience and excellence in research and collaboration in the Amazon region. The program emerged from training and research initiatives supported by the Amazon Conservation Leadership Initiative (ACLI) Program, and from the recently formed Brazilian research group “Água, Floresta e Gente” (Water, Forests, and People), registered with CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico–Brazilian Scientific Agency). The Program is result of a partnership between University of Florida and three Amazonian Universities: Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR), Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) and State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT).
